Even though it’s obvious to anyone with a functional frontal lobe and a shred of morality, we feel the need to include this disclaimer. This website (which openly advocates for the cancellation of a beloved television series) is in no way, shape or form affiliated with the FOX Network, the News Corporation, subsidiaries thereof, or any of Rupert Murdoch’s wives or children. “The Simpsons” is (unfortunately) the intellectual property of FOX. We and our crack team of one (1) lawyer believe that everything on this site falls under the definition of Fair Use and is protected by the First Amendment to the United States Constitution. No revenue is generated from this endeavor; we’re here because we love “The Simpsons”. And besides, you can’t like, own a potato, man, it’s one of Mother Earth’s creatures.
“Otto. That’s one palindrome you won’t be hearing for a while.”
I sure could go for a can of corn
“He steps on the clutch and the toilet goes flush! Hail to the …” — Ralph
“SHUT UP!!!!” — Skinner
Remember when Otto was there to be Bart’s only “cool” adult friend? For about the past dozen years, Otto is just the writers’ go-to guy for lazy drug jokes.
“I’ve never been called an adult before.”
Also, the ONLY time those “go-to” jokes were funny was Stoner’s Pot Palace. That was pretty early in the run, though.
Also, remember when the appearance of a rock band (even a pseudo rock band, although the distinction is difficult with Spinal Tap) was actually used for some sort of humorous situation, as opposed to, “Look, it’s The Smashing Pumpkins!!” showing off?
I actually didn’t mind the SP being there; it was at a rock concert, after all. All those bands had a logical, legitimate reason to be in the story (as silly as the story was in itself). Plus, who doesn’t love the “Billy Corgan, Smashing Pumpkins” / “Homer Simpsons, Smiling Politely” exchange?
Its good, but its not quite up there with “Good night Springton, there will be no encore!” or ‘Hungaria’ being the other ‘Garia.
“My kids think you’re the greatest. And thanks to your gloomy music, they’ve finally stopped dreaming of a future I can’t possibly provide,” is a line that far eclipses any of the chacters’ banter with celebrities in the double digit seasons.
