Ah, Homer’s Enemy. One of the last true classics.

Everyone agrees on how amazing season’s 3, 4, and 5 were. And while those were definitely the Simpsons at their best, I believe Season 8 is right up there.

Homer’s Enemy; Homer’s Phobia; The Mysterious Voyage of Homer; The Springfield Files; You Only Move Twice; The Beer Baron; and Mountain of Madness, were all apart of season 8. Most would say Homer’s Phobia is the best of those episodes, althoug my personal favorite would be The Springfield Files. Either way, it just goes to show you how much depth Season 8 had, when a classic like Homer’s Enemy isn’t even the best of the bunch.

We’ll never see another season with even 1 episode that’s at the level of any of those 7 classics from Season 8.

Hard to imagine there was a time when you could get 7 classics all in one season.

Agreed. 8 may not be perfect, but those episodes you listed are the reason why I hold it in much higher regard than the usual DHSers.
