Zombie Simpsons (finally?) takes on Burning Man Blazing Guy in tonight’s assuredly half-assed “Blazed and Confused”. Also, for reasons, Willem Dafoe is in it. The synopsis-bot sez:

Bart faces a tough test at school when he gets a new teacher, Mr. Lassen (guest voice Willem Dafoe), who vows to crush his spirit in the all-new “Blazing Guy” episode of THE SIMPSONS airing Sunday, Nov. 16 (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT) on FOX

Cool story, bro.

You know, guys, I think now is the time when the modern Simpsons team will really turn this whole thing around. Al Jean has had a solid 13+ years to warm up, and now he’s finally ready to return The Simpsons to its former glory! I can feel it.

What in the name of merry hell is going on in those screengrabs?

So will Bart get a new celebrity-voiced teacher every time they need to do an episode about him in school now?

And Bart’s new celebrity-voiced teacher is played by one of Lisa’s old celebrity-voiced teachers…

“Blazing Guy”? I’ve seen a lot of TV shows that just use “Burning Man” so I don’t know why ZS can’t. “Blazing Guy” just sounds so stupid. Ah, the bland name products of ZS have just worn me down…

That dude looks like Mr. Burns’ younger son (or grandson).

… I looked at the screenshot, knowing nothing else about the episode beforehand, and I really thought he was related to Burns.

Also… For some indescribable reason, I’ve suddenly got that urge to listen to Led Zepp… Must be my birthday (’cause it is lol)

Also, on second thought, he doesn’t look like Mr. Burns. He looks like a fucking pedophile in that first screenshot.

Willem Dafoe seemed like he was actually trying, too bad this was ZS and not The Simpsons. Imagine how The Simpsons would have used Willem Dafoe. Bigger ZS waste than Patton Oswalt or Tina Fey.

You don’t have to imagine how TS would’ve used Dafoe; you just have to watch Season 8’s “The Secret War of Lisa Simpson.”

Agreed, I actually liked Dafoe’s character in this for a change of pace. Too bad it’s completely wasted once they shoehorn the absolutely idiotic Burning Man portion into it.

On another note, Chalmers’ constant inexplicable sharing of Skinner’s office continues to bug me. What does he even do anymore aside from being Skinner’s shadow?

Also, Willem DaFoe was originally going to be the voice of Frank Grimes on “Homer’s Enemy,” but they ended using Hank Azaria’s recordings instead.

    Worst. Episode. Ever.
