…Psst, Charlie! Selma’s last name should read as “Bouvier.”

i think Selma dating Moleman was in “A Fish Called Selma” from Season 7. “Black Widower” is from Season 2.

No, I got it wrong, it was from “Selma’s Choice”, Season 4.

And “Black Widower” wasn’t from Season 2 either, it’s a Season 3 episode.
          I’m fired, aren’t I?

Selma dated Moleman that early in the show?! What?!? I thought it was another ZS invention from, like, Season 15.

Well, it was only a small one off joke – if Zombie Simpsons used the idea it would engulf the entire episode.

Yes, she did. Luckily, this being real Simpsons, we’re treated to Selma’s vision of a horrifically funny “What-if” scenario with her having children with the Moleman:

I always love that final bit with one of her unholy spawn being so dumb as to fall outside the window.

And the gag works because she’s primarily wanting children, not really the companionship of the husband. So she’s not so much “dating Moleman” as “considering him for sperm donation” which has a somewhat lower bar. Somewhat. She’s not considering him as a romantic partner. So when she envisions the creation, she justifiably runs outta there. Even when it’s a premise ZS would jump on, The Simpsons only uses it in an appropriate juncture and in an appropriate way. As someone said above; ZS would have had it the whole episode.
