I do miss this old dynamic of Homer always being on tenterhooks around Mr. Burns, terrified that one wrong move would cost him his job. One of my favorite old running gags was Homer screaming anytime he saw Burns outside of work, one of those quick little reminders of how these characters see each other.
While we’re on this episode. When Lenny falls in the hole at the end after he gets fired. I took that as a call back to burns’ heir, when Lenny gets fired (even though he didn’t say E). Anyone else?
I never thought of it that way, but that’s interesting.
