Even though it’s obvious to anyone with a functional frontal lobe and a shred of morality, we feel the need to include this disclaimer. This website (which openly advocates for the cancellation of a beloved television series) is in no way, shape or form affiliated with the FOX Network, the News Corporation, subsidiaries thereof, or any of Rupert Murdoch’s wives or children. “The Simpsons” is (unfortunately) the intellectual property of FOX. We and our crack team of one (1) lawyer believe that everything on this site falls under the definition of Fair Use and is protected by the First Amendment to the United States Constitution. No revenue is generated from this endeavor; we’re here because we love “The Simpsons”. And besides, you can’t like, own a potato, man, it’s one of Mother Earth’s creatures.
Just realized the last 4 out of 5 quotes of the days are from seasons 9 and 10. Have you run out of quotes from earlier episodes?
Actually, I think seven out of the past ten quotes (counting the additional chapter to the Zombie Simpsons book) were from 9 and 10. I’m guessing it might be for variety’s sake.
I always thought this was a decent episode with some great quotes and scenes. Does it rank amongst the greatest? No, but it is still a very good episode and a good example of how slightly post-classic Simpsons era did Lisa episode where she is not insufferable or mean spirited but genuinely wants to feel happy and accepted for who she is.
That’s how I feel about this episode too. Plus, it’s one of the few episodes of this era where Homer doesn’t dominate (though there is that subplot where he poses for erotic pictures, but that doesn’t really go anywhere).
